Description: These rats contain a mutation in the Pkhd1 gene. Homozygous mutant rats develop pathologies in both the liver and kidney while heterozygous animals are normal. This rat serves as a model of human autosomal-recessive polycystic kidney disease (ARPKD).  Live animals can be provided by UAB once the MTA is signed.
