Description: DNA encoding a SNAP Tag was inserted into exon 1 of Pkd1, in-frame and immediately downstream of nucleotides encoding the PC1 signal sequence cleavage site. The resulting allele encodes an N-terminally tagged SNAP-PC1 fusion protein expressed from the endogenous Pkd1 locus.  Homozygous mice are viable but have a mild cystic phenotype.
