When you fundraise for the Walk for PKD, your efforts help enhance research and improve the lives of those living with PKD. Here are some ways last year’s donors helped make an impact:

• Funding cutting-edge research: In 2024, we distributed more than $2 million in research funding. Ten new research grants and three new research fellowships were awarded, as well as second-year funding for the 10 research grants and three fellowships that were announced in 2023.
• Expanding Centers of Excellence: We designated three new Centers of Excellence, 14 new Partner Clinics, four new Pediatric Clinics, and recognized, for the first time, our first four Pediatric Centers of Excellence. This expansion enhances patient care and advances research. Additionally, it shows our commitment to high-quality care for the youngest people with PKD in our community.
• Advocating for Research Dollars: Our advocacy work helped PKD researchers secure quadruple the funding from the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs—from $3.5 million in 2023 to $15.66 million in 2024.
